Happy Halloween!

As with all holidays, we love getting the boys into it and all excited.

It all started two weeks ago when we went to G and G Bleything's house with their cousins and decorated Halloween cupcakes.

Last night Matt carved two of the pumpkins that we got at the pumpkin patch (wow, I am way behind on my posts- I haven't even written about those excursions). The boys loved this and stayed close to him the entire time.


Today we went with their good friend, Adam and his mom, my friend, Karen, trick-or-treating at the strip mall by our house. I got the boys Elmo and Cookie Monster outfits and they refused to wear them, of course. We slapped some jerseys on them and called them K-state football players. Ben was very happy that he got to wear his jersey for the 3rd day in a row. He also demanded that he wear his "basketball shorts" and sunglasses. He walked around outside and inside for about an hour with those on. A lady at one of the stores said he was dressed up as a "cool guy", which is a pretty good description of him. Adam was a doggy and is a good boy, actually wearing his Halloween costume!
When Matt got home, we fed the boys dinner and got them ready to go trick-or-treating on our street. Out of the blue, Sam agreed to wear his Elmo costume. I'm so happy he did because he looked adorable. Ben, still refused his Cookie Monster costume and threw a fit when we made him wear a jacket - even though is was in the low 50's outside.

Later, Kate came over to trick-or-treat and hang out for awhile. This is the best picture I could get of all three of them in the same shot. I guess that's what I get for trying to photograph three 2-year-olds. Miss Kate was an adorable pumpkin and even had a "scary face" that she did for the occasion.
Just for the record....Ben did put his Cookie Monster outfit on about 3 weeks ago for about 1 minute and so I captured the moment:

Since we were having such a hard time with their costumes, Karen let me borrow some of Adams old ones in case they agreed to wear one of those. Here is Sam as a Devil - he looked so innocent in it :) It was the first and last time he let me put it on him.

Fashionista?

I recently bought Ben these adorable Puma's off Ebay. They are in brand new condition and soooooo cute! However, he won't go near them. He likes what he likes......



And these 25 cent garage sale beauties are what he likes:

He also will only wear shirts with footballs on them, Thomas the Train shirts and his K-state jerseys. Today I wanted them to wear some adorable matching Halloween shirts and Ben cried for 15 minutes before he agreed to wear it. I bet you $100 he will shift through the dirty clothes today until he finds a football shirt and insists on changing.

On a side note: The Puma's are too small for Sam so I am selling them on Craigslist. I paid $17 (including shipping) for them on Ebay so I'm gonna try to recoup $15 if anyone wants to buy them. They were listed as "pre-owned" but they look like they have never been worn. Email me if interested. They are a size 7, brown, tan and white and could be for a boy or a girl

Can I just say how much I love these boys? I spend night and day with them and still can't get enough. I still can't even believe they are my kids- they are just too wonderful!

Pumpkin decorating...kinda

We have been to two birthday parties where the boys got to decorate pumpkins, which I think is a super cute idea to do at birthdays this time of year and a wonderful party favor for the kids to take home.

Piggly wiggly

I know my mom is going to get mad at me for posting about Ben eating a lot of food. But, this picture was captured when my little piglet was eating the last of his big breakfast, which consisted of one boiled egg, 2 bowls of oatmeal, 3 bowls of life cereal and some apples.

He wants to make sure he gets every last drop:

Sam makes this funny face now where he tenses up his whole body and squeeze really hard. He does it to make us laugh or when he gets super super excited. Here is my best effort at capturing it:
