This months highs and lows:
They can pretty much sit up by themselves even though Sam is too squirmy to sit still for long
First time in the big swimming pool at Aunt Tracy's house
Ben can give "high five" and wave "Hi"
Sam keeps saying "dada" over and over again. No mama yet although I swear I heard him say Jill. Real cool, Sam, real cool- dada and Jill - makes me feel good.
Ben got 2 new teeth (6 1/2 months was his first tooth)
3 sick trips to the doctor :( Ben went twice for back to back ear infections in opposite ears and Sam went one basically because I was paranoid he had one too, which he didn't.
They roll around like crazy and both get on all fours like they are ready to crawl. Somehow without crawling they can move around the room. They have gotten skilled at angling their rolls to move any direction
They both love the laundry basket and pick and and look at lots of toys in it
Ben is obsessed with his hands
Still sleeping through the night!
Starting to drink out of sippy cups
Eating lots of new foods....chicken, avocado, pumpkin, mango, lentil (have made but they haven't tried yet), blueberry, spinach, potatoes, pears, carrots, applesauce, peaches, butternut squash, sweet potato, peas, green beans...I think that's about it. Oh, and their fave, bananas.
Here they are in their new swim outfits from Aunt Jamie:
It is getting increasingly difficult to get them to sit still for pictures:
Jill,
ReplyDeleteYou are right - everyone does say it - but it goes SO fast! I can't believe Ben and Sam are 7 months. I will have to get your advice on making your own baby food. I think I'm going to give it a try. I'll have to go back and look at your blog post where you discussed it. It sounds like the boys are doing GREAT!
Julie :)
P.S. I'll be back in KC mid-July. We'll have to get together again!
Awww..getting soooo big! I need to squeeze them some more. Isn't it fun to see all their little quirks they develop as they grow? It's like they are becoming people or something! lol
ReplyDeleteAnd what's with the RIP Michael Jackson? You guys are weird :)
that is so wonderful about all the foods they eat and the sleeping-good job, mom! Jill-I love it! I swear I hear mama and also mamie. I am like what the heck? lol! #2 will have someone to model mama so that my help at my house. btw, I started slacking on continuing to offer a variety of foods around 14 months and slipped into a routine. turns out, btw 14 and 18 is when they start getting picky and set in the their ways. argh! so I have been reversing it the last two months and it has gone okay. btw, you don't realize how inactive they are until 6 months and then they are just so freaking fun! I love all the new things they start doing. Btw now and 15 months things change so very very fast but it is so cool to see! Before you know it, they will be Charlie's age and saying "I want..." about everything! lol Gone are the days we can eat chocolate chip cookies, m&m's and brownies in front of him, lol! Enjoy it now!
