Oh my gosh, we took the boys to see and ride on the real live Thomas the Tank Engine! It was such a fun day! We went to Baldwin City, Kansas where they had a entire Thomas extravaganza. There were tents with several train tables, a petting zoo, bounce houses, meet Sir Topham Hatt, and of course, you got to take a 25 minute train ride in "Clarabel" pulled by the real Thomas ;) Needless to say, Ben and Sam were just a tad bit excited. Although, when asked what their favorite part of the day was they said the train tables, which were not as cool as their own train tables, and the juice boxes we let them have with their lunch. Our kids are easily entertained.
Here they are with the real Thomas. He didn't talk to them because he had to smile for the pictures, of course!

Their buddy, Adam, and his parents also were there:
Group hug!
Sam and Adam walking off into the sunset:
The boys meeting Sir Topham Hatt. Sam wanted to give him a hug but Ben wouldn't go meet him unless his dad was holding him. I'm afraid Ben got my fear of just about everything:
The big hug (supposedly he was played by a 50 year-old woman - sure glad the boys didn't see him out of costume. We would have had a lot of 'splaining to do!)
The boys during their favorite part of the day. Ben with his beloved Gordon or as he calls him, Dordon. It is his absolute favorite train and he lost his a few months ago. We have bribed him that if he goes poop in the big boy potty we will buy him another Dordon. If that doesn't work, I don't know what will!
It was a great day! But, with their new found obsession with Cars 2, it looks like our next outing with have to be a NASCAR race!
