We left our house at 12:30 on Saturday. My parents and Aunt Nancy babysat for that 24 hours - thank you again! Anyway, we left and went to lunch at Grinders. Matt has always wanted to go there so we did not waste the opportunity to try the pizza AND the philly cheesesteak with tator tots. It was very delicious but we were soooo stuffed and not pool ready, which was our next plan. We checked into the Hyatt early and went straight to the pool. Other than getting stuck next to 6 ladies from Texas chatting the entire time, it was nice and relaxing. After that we got ready and went to dinner at Prime Rib Grill. The waitress, bless her heart, gave us the worst recommendation for the Blackened prime rib. The spices were way too much but after we scraped them off and dipped it in horseradish it was yummy. A couple of their wines were also 1/2 off so we samped those too!
After dinner we wanted to have a drink at Skies, the restaurant on top of the Hyatt that supposedly rotates. We put our names in, went back to our room...and promptly fell asleep! In the morning we realized those jerks never called us! Ah, it was nice to sleep peacefully knowing the Angel care monitor or a crying baby would not wake us up. We had dreams of sleeping in late...but that didn't happen. We were up and adam at 8am, which I guess it kinda late. Went down to breakfast (it was gross), went to the pool for another hour, and checked out.
It was such a wonderful 24 hours and sooooo nice to get away with Matt with just the two of us for 1 night. We haven't done that in a couple of years - even for a night- so it was awesome.
Here is a picture of Matt with all the food strewn in front of him at Grinders. He looks pretty proud of himself!
So glad you got to get away. It's funny, but C and I did the same thing for our anniversary-we did the in town get away. I think we were gone for about 30 hrs to Westin. It worked out great. In fact, it was just in May when we left for three days and then in a few weeks we will go for four. Slowly getting braver...and realizing our time is limited as two will be much harder! But then, you already know about two! Happy Anniversary! We want to see you guys SOON!
