Hello 2011!!

Happy New Year friends and family! I hope everyone had a fun and safe NYE and ate your black-eyed peas on New Years day. That is a tradition of ours! My recipe is sooooo good but Matt only lets me make it on New Years Day now because I tend to over make my faves and that is one of them for sure.

We had a perfect New Years Eve celebrating with our good friends, the Boomers. They have a son, Miles, who is 6 months older than the boys so we went over there early so all the boys could play together. Mary is also pregnant with their daughter, Sheila, who is due in April. *Her name isn't really going to be Sheila but that is what I like to call her. * After the boys played we put Sam and Ben to bed at their house in their pack and plays and Miles went to sleep in his crib we had a nice dinner with just us adults. Mary made a delicious veggie lasagna, salad and bread. Jim made homemade ice cream from him new ice cream maker he received for Christmas! We brought peanut butter, red velvet, and strawberry cupcakes. It was so wonderful just to sit down and eat and talk like regular people...this doesn't happen much these days. Mary tried on her 1970's pregnant jeans that were handed down from one of her friends. They were hilarious!! She promised to wear them to Matt's b-day party in March if I have one for him.....which now I definitely will! Thank you guys, again, for having us over! It was so much fun!

To all reading this....I hope you find all your hopes and dreams in 2011!

(Don't you know it's good luck to put a baby in a basket on New Years ;)

  1. So funny to read here about Sheila :) Had such a nice time with you guys -- you are so right that sitting down and getting to relax, eat and talk like regular people is a treat. Loved having you over and was sad when you left. Great way to ring in a new year. Love u guys :)

PS her full name is Sheila Elizabeth.
