Big day for our big boys

Matt and I have talked lately how we are trying to keep our boys babies.  We still have them in cribs and high chairs.  We haven't started potty training and haven't even gotten them a bike.  They talk to us in complete sentences- they are not babies anymore!  This idea just needs to set in and it's a hard pill to swallow.  I don't want them to get big!

So, we decided to help them become big boys.  Today, the boys teacher reported to me that they did not fight and did not hit anyone so I decided to give them a special special treat.  My mom and I took them to Toys R Us and bought them scooters and helmets.

They LOVE their scooters and got the hang of it pretty quickly.  They even wore their new helmets to the park, which I loved- more protection for their heads!

Here they are in action:

This was the initial helmet Sam picked out.  He looked like Dark Helmet from the movie Spaceballs

Last week I put out two potty chairs that my aunt gave to them.  Ben immediately made me take his back downstairs.  Sam has pretty much avoided his but tolerates it being in the same room as him.  Tonight, after bath time, Sam said he had to go potty.  I asked him if he wanted to go on the big boy potty and he said yes.  After much pushing and concentrating, he went pee in his potty chair!  We were so proud of him!  Matt and I celebrated and Ben sat there and pretended like it didn't even happen.

Pretty eventful day for my not so little babies!
